The FOSSIL HUNTER©  is sure to capture your attention! Your students will see a myriad of fossils, learn first hand what  fossils are, how they are formed and many ways they can be found.  During this "hands on" program children will touch several actual fossils, and participate by answering interesting fossil questions. for the final 10 minutes they will be able to ask questions about the numerous genuine fossils on display as they get a hands on close up view of the fossil display table. 

    Mr. Heinz, The Fossil Hunter, will show children some of the collecting gear he uses for fossil hunting, even the actual scuba gear he used underwater!  He will show a short video of underwater fossil divers in action, searching for fossil bones, the huge teeth of prehistoric sharks and Indian artifacts and arrowheads! To close the presentation each child receives a genuine 12 million year old fossil, a prehistoric shark tooth like they saw being found in the video! It's attached to the Fossil Hunters personalized identification card so they can bring it home to share with their family and friends!

Most  of the fossils they will see were actually found by the presenter. Mr. Heinz is an associate member of the American Museum of Natural History in New York, and  a Southern Connecticut Library Council member.  Heinz is also an internationally certified SCUBA diver. The presentation is now going on its 10th year. We will  be expanding our coverage area to all along the eastern USA, and soon be seen on local cable broadcasts in your area.
